Artisan Zamorano Cheese – Made From Raw  Ewes' Milk - Aged 8 Months - ~ 270g

Cheese with a firm consistency. Made from 100% unpasteurised ewes' milk.

Although it is 8 months mature, it melts in the mouth. Its flavour is elegant and intense. It closely resembles mature Manchego Cheese.

This cheese was awarded a Gold Medal as "the Best Continental Hard Cheese" at the 2017 Global Cheese Awards Frome, Gold Medal at the 2018, 2017 & 2013 World Cheese Awards organised by the Guild of Fine Food, a Super-Gold Medal at the 2015 & a Silver Medal at the 2016 editions, held for the first time outside of the UK.

Suggestion: pair it with a glass of Rioja Reserva or Ribera del Duero.

Tip: Pull out of the refrigerator at least 1/2 hour before serving.

It is a cheese with a firm consistency and a hard, smooth natural rind. Once it is cut, this cheese shows a uniform ivory-white colour, without any darkening near the rind, and with a few mechanical holes. Whilst firm, it melts in the mouth and at the same time resembles a young cheese, with the intense and elegant flavour of an older cheese. It has a "sheepy" taste, clearly showing its origin, with a long-lasting aftertaste on the palate.

Zamorano cheese was known as Manchego until it was given its own Designation of Origin.

In 2018, 2017 and 2013 it received a Gold Medal at the World Cheese Awards. In the 2015 edition it was awarded a Super-Gold Medal, being considered one of the best cheeses of the world, and in the 2016 edition was awarded a Silver Medal.
